As an University College learner, you have access to a number of resources designed to help you succeed in our online programs and beyond. UC offers the Career and Vocation Center to help students connect their education to a career, as well as access to APU’s libraries and University Bookstore. Students can also take advantage of a variety of academic support services, including 24/7 online tutoring and writing skills support.

Life at UC

Success Coaching and Academic Advising

You will be assigned a Success Coach who will serve as your key liaison at UC to help you succeed in your program. Your Success Coach will act as your academic advisor to develop a plan to complete your program. As an online learner, you can always contact your Success Coach via phone or email to receive guidance on making academic choices in schedule and program requirements.

Worship Experience

As part of your spiritual development, UC encourages learners to engage in worship experience online. The Azusa Pacific student body produces Web-hosted chapel services at various times throughout the week on live simulcasts at www.apu.edu/live, and UC students may access this chapel program at their convenience.

Chapel programs exist to create a consistent rhythm of intentional worship experiences for students that encourage spiritual formation through creative arts, gifted speakers, and Christian practices.

Book and Software

University Bookstore

Order your books, digital textbooks, and class materials online from the University Bookstore and start your classes prepared. Simply select “Buy,” and then select the term and course that applies to you.

Learners can save up to 85 percent off retail pricing on popular software products by purchasing through discount retailers such as JourneyEd.com.

To qualify for an academic discount at JourneyEd.com, you will need to provide one of the following documents as proof of your academic status:

Academic Support

As part of UC’s commitment to you and your academic achievement, the Center for Student Success is pleased to offer free online tutoring with Tutor.com. Expert tutors are on hand 24/7 (except holidays) to help you with assignments, concepts, and exam preparation. The service covers a wide range of subjects, including multiple areas of math, science, English, and business. You will work one-to-one with your tutor in an online classroom on your specific homework problem until it's done.

Your tutoring session can be accessed directly from your course in the "Tutor.com" block. Each learner is provided with 30 minutes of complimentary tutoring each session. If you've used your 30 minutes and need more tutoring (you may be eligible for up to 120 total minutes per session), contact your success coach or click here to request additional tutoring.

  • 3 units, 8 weeks long
  • Contact your success coach about course availability
  • MATH095 is a pass/fail course and a C- 70% or better must be earned in order to place into MATH110 College Algebra.

Learner Resources


UC learners have online access to more than 140 online databases, including 46,000 electronic journals, 60,600 ebooks. They can also make use of a 24/7 reference service and online tutorial guides by logging in to the APU Library online databases through APU Library Resources page. 

Additionally, UC learners with local access are able to check out hard copy versions of books if they sign up for a Courtesy Patron account for $20 per year at any of the Circulation Desk at any one of the Azusa Pacific University’s libraries:

  • William V. Marshburn Memorial Library (East campus)
  • Hugh and Hazel Darling Library (West Campus)
  • James L. Stamps Theological Library (West Campus)
  • A Courtesy Patron account requires that they pick and drop off their checked out books and gives them privileges to check out up to 25 books.

Disability Accommodations

University College partners with the Learning Enrichment Center (LEC) at Azusa Pacific University to coordinate accommodations for undergraduate and graduate students with specific disabilities. Accommodations are individualized based on the learning needs of each student and upon documented verification of disability.
